Class Q permitted development for 2 units , North Norfolk
My client approached me wanting to manage an application to convert a large steel framed barn into 2 dwellings. If approved, the site would be sold with permission for 2 larger dwellings, as my client already lived elsewhere on the farm.
As well as the existing/proposed drawings and application for 2 new class q dwellings, I also managed the various surveys that were needed for a class q permitted development application.
These included the following surveys :
• To confirm the barn is structurally sound and therefore can be converted.
• Ecology surveys to determine the presence of bats (unlikely in a steel frame barn).
• Highways visibility splay drawings to show the visibility of the existing access will be sufficient for 2 new dwellings.
• Contamination report to rule out any possible contamination from the previous use of the site.
Permitted developed for 2 class q barn conversions was approved in 2023.
